When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, and soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine.
The door has a window and 3 raised panels below. Although the window is without glass, we could order and install glass i.
Hardware : The door is not equipped with any hardware. The door's height was unevenly cut by 1/2" and the door's width by 1/4" at some point, most likely made to compensate for a settling foundation or an old warped floor.
We could cut the door to an even 31 7/8"x78 7/8", cut it shorter or narrower, and we could also add wood to it to make it taller or wider to fit your opening. It appears that the door was forced open at some point and the broken lock housing was repaired (see photos). The repair is OK, but it could've been done better and the scars are obvious. I suggest replacing the entire area with a solid block of wood. Not only would that eliminate the repair and scars, it will also give you fresh wood to drill new holes for your new lockset. There was also a break in the lower lock stile corner, which was filled with some type of spackle. I removed the spackle from one side to show you the extent of the damage. Just like the repaired lock housing, I would suggest to replace the corner with a new block of wood. The top piece of window molding broke in half (see last photo).
Although the door appears in bad shape, we have restored doors in much, much worse condition. We've restored doors that were rotted, warped, and falling apart, so this one's a piece of cake! Otherwise, the door is in good condition with only surface scrapes, scratches, and small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. Swing : This door is currently set up to swing into the home towards the right. Modification : We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs.
We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, make molding, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Door : 31 7/8 " - 3 2 1/8 " x 78 7/8 " - 7 9 3/8 " x 1 5/8 thick.
